Too poor to travel? Never!

So you’ve read up on a country that you’re dying to go to, or perhaps you’ve seen some stunning pictures on Instagram making you dream of a faraway place, either way you would also have thought ‘I can’t afford that’ and wished you’d never even heard of the place.

I’m here to tell you that travel itself isn’t as expensive as mainstream media lets you believe. Sure, who wouldn’t want to spend the night in a spa-bath overlooking NYC in a beautiful suite, or relax on a private balcony overlooking the ocean in Tahiti, but if you REALLY want to see a place it’s 100% possible on a budget. Read on for money saving tips for the 3 biggest purchases of your trip. Continue reading “Too poor to travel? Never!”

Things are well and truly warming up in the Northern Hemisphere and one of the hottest places to visit right now is the beautiful nation of Croatia (and not just because of the 13 hours of sunlight it experiences in the summer months!).

The country, and it’s borders, were once a matter of much argument. Those border wars, along with the complicated and centuries old background of the Croats, bring a rich history and many interesting stories. From the capital of Zagreb to the coastal towns of Dubrovnik and Split, there’s always something interesting to see, eat, and experience.

Want crystal blue beaches? Head to the Dalmatian Coast.
Love your coffee? The locals in Zagreb (and most of the country) take their coffee very seriously so you’re sure to get a G-R-E-A-T cup o’ joe wherever you are.
Feel like partying like it’s 1999? Check out Hvar Town on any given night and you’ll be sure to find others to party until dawn with.
Are you a bit of a history buff? With a country that has a documented history spanning over 1000 years, you’re sure to find a Roman ruin or a museum of some sort that will interest you.

If the above has you wanting to know more then keep on reading to find out the places you should add to your next Europe trip… Continue reading “Croatia”

How do I afford to travel so much?

This is a great post on how to travel longer for cheaper!

Happy Holidays my dear readers and fellow adventurers. This seemed like an appropriate topic to cover on the holiday 🙂

Yes I know this article has been done a million times, by much better bloggers and more experienced travelers than myself. However, I never get tired of reading these articles and getting new ideas.

I also believe that travel and experience is exceptionally unique and should by tailored accordingly. Thus, the crazy safari jungle vacations of one might be a night mare to another and hostels may seem like a dream to some and a bad horror movie to others.

So let me tell you in brief how I afford to travel, some basics on how much I travel, how much it costs, and then in the future delve into the details of each item that I address quickly here. I’ve placed links throughout of…

Sydney, Australia

Once a week I’ll be sharing insights, travel tips, photos, and anything else that might be interesting, for a city or region from around the world. I figured what better place to start with than my current home city?

When someone says Australia they immediately think of bronzed body’s, white sandy beaches, kangaroos, Vegemite, and throwing shrimps on barbies. Now, while I’m happy with most stereotypes associated with being Australian let’s get some housekeeping out of the way shall we? No Australian has ever ‘thrown shrimp on the barbie’, mainly because down under we take barbecuing very seriously and won’t ever throw meat onto the grill. Also we eat prawns, not shrimp. Secondly, we do not drink Fosters beer. Ever. Don’t come to a party with a carton of Fosters unless you’re willing to carry it home again.

Now that’s out of the way, let’s get started – Sydney! The home of Bondi Beach, the Sydney Opera House, and ‘the coat hanger’ (also known as the Sydney Harbour Bridge). After living here for just 18 months I can tell you it’s so much more than that though, there are so many different places to visit and things to see that it can seem overwhelming, especially if you’re here for a limited time. To help you out I’ve listed a few things to see and do while you’re here, not all of them will be in your guide book…. Continue reading “Sydney, Australia”

What is Sunsets & SeaBreezes?

So you’ve found yourself on my blog – and you’re probably thinking who is this person? What is this all about?? How did I get here?!

Unfortunately I can only answer two out of three of those questions – you’ll have to figure out how you got here on your own! Please keep reading if you want answers to the other two questions though….

Who am I? My name is Kelly and I have over 10 years of travel industry experience. This has made my bucket list a mile long and my love of this big blue marble we call Earth even stronger.

Why Sunsets & SeaBreezes? Growing up on the west coast of Australia I was spoiled with beautiful ocean sunsets every day, and the daily ‘doctor’ (the seabreeze) that used to flow through the house and cool us all down on a hot summers day.

What IS it though? I’ve made this business to bring my passion for travel to everyone who is interested!
